2018 Collection

The 2018 Laykin et Cie collection reimagines a selection of jewels created by the firm in the 1935 – 1945 period as well as pieces from the late 1950's and 1960's. Each piece has been meticulously crafted with the finest gemstones and attention to detail. From Art Moderne to Art Deco and pieces that represent the Continental Design period of the late 1950's through the 1960's. This period of design which is also closely related to what is now called "Mid-Century Modern" relied on clean and unobtrusive lines which reflected the elegant simplicity of the jet age.

    Scallop de Compostela

    $3,250.00

Clean and striking, these beautiful ear clips were designed by Laykin et Cie in the 1940's and evoke the Scallop shells traditionally collected by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago who make their way from France and elsewhere to the Saint James shrine at Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.

The ear clips have been reintroduced in their original form for the 2018 collection and can be owned with calibre rubies, sapphires, emeralds, onyx or diamonds. Set in 18kt yellow gold with .30cts of diamonds.

New for 2018 the Nephertiti is now available in pure platinum.

Evoking the 1930's Art Deco interpretation of ancient Egyptian themes; this strong ring of sultry proportions and modernistic presence establishes it's presenter as a woman of conviction. Nephertiti was designed at the Laykin et Cie atelier on Sunset Blvd in 1935 and originally featured choices of opaque Onyx, Lapis or Malachite.

Shown here with blue topaz specially selected for this most unique of rings.

Our reinterpretation of this stylistic gem ensconces gorgeous hand cut and polished gems to feature their stunning translucence devoid of the complexities created by facets. These stones forcefully challenge the status quo with a bold statement of purity and resolution. Laykin et Cie is pleased to present Nephertiti in Blue or Brown Topaz, Yellow Citrine, Pink or Green Tourmaline, or Amethyst set in 18KT yellow gold.
