The Mocambo....originally designed at Laykin et Cie for one of Mocambo owner Charlie Morrisson's "friends" in 1941. The ring, brought back to life in 2017 evokes the passions of the era, set in beautiful 18kt rose gold and channel set square rubies with two rows of brilliant round diamonds. The center of this bow ring however departs from the traditional round diamond and features a stunning cabochon ruby. A fitting statement at the Mocambo in 1941 or at the SoHo House in 2017. This beautiful bow ring can also be ordered as a mounting to accommodate your own center stone as well and makes for an perfect way to say thank you....or I love you. The Mocambo was one of Sunset Strips most famous night clubs from 1941 - 1957 and was located across the street from the location of the original Laykin et Cie Hollywood salon. It featured performances and customers representing Hollywood's A list. Visit product page →"Montecito" by Laykin et Cie is a beautiful unisex expression of the California Coast. Now worn by locals, celebrities and travelers to Montecito alike, this fragrance is easy to enjoy, not overpowering and refreshing while subtly seductive.
Mr. Laykin worked on this scent with his team for over two years to produce a natural product that reflected his initial inspiration of working in perfume, an encounter with Annick Goutal in San Francisco in 1985 when she made her American debut of "Eau D'hadrian". Laykin said; "Annick's passion for her craft and honest and unencumbered approach to her fragrances was a bell weather moment for me. She allowed her inspiration to be at the forefront of the product, the scent....not the commercialization"
The bottle reflects the simple and restrained elegance of Laykin et Cie and features an embossed and beveled metal label which carries the "Montecito" logo in Mr. Laykin's own handwriting.
Each bottle is delivered in a beautiful black draw-string jewelry pouch featuring the gold embossed Laykin et Cie logo.
Exclusively and only available at the Laykin et Cie Salon at the Rosewood Miramar Hotel in Montecito, California or on Laykin.com.
Limited Production of 500 Bottles. Hand made in France under the supervision and direction of Mr. Laykin and the longest producing French perfume house. Since 1747. Evoking the clean citrus shores of California underpinned by the great old oaks and woodlands of the western slopes of the coast; all intertwined with the enchanting spell of Hyacinth and wild mystery flowers.
